PhD Qualifying Exam Passed

I’ve officially passed my PhD qualifying exam. At Georgia Tech, the robotics PhD qualifier consists of three sections of your choice. My choices were controls, perception, and artificial intelligence. The controls section focuses on modern feedback control (e.g. stability of linear and non-linear systems, controllability and observability, trajectory tracking, and LQR control). The perception area focuses on state estimation and modern computer vision methods (e.g. Kalman filters and Deep Learning), and the artificial intelligence section mostly focuses on classical search methods and machine learning. I’ve passed all three sections, and can move on to the next challenge: proposing a thesis.
